Saturday began with homemade pancakes and a quick trip to Camden for a very important purchase (the boyfriend needed a biker jacket, of course!) before we went on a wee drive up to Audley End House. We realised this was Néstor's first glimpse of the countryside (despite having lived in the UK for a total of 3 years!) which I think really justified our decision to purchase an annual English Heritage membership! It can be used in Scotland too so I can make use of it when I'm home as well. It's also a great excuse to get out of London for a day, I think we both felt so much better for it and it made the weekend seem even longer!

London Brunching: A Guide
My perfect Sunday: yoga with my friends followed by a yummy brunch and beautiful coffee while we catch up, this is almost always followed by a wander around the shops.
Let's start with The Counter in Hackney Wick. This place is canal side and really chilled, we visited it for my boyfriend's birthday and were lucky that the weather was nice enough to sit outside. I had the french toast with roast banana and berries - it was amazing and I need to head back there ASAP! We definitely need to revisit - I'm curious to see how it changes in the colder months.
This place is a post-yoga, post-Barrecore treat! Delicious fresh juices ('Lookin' Mint' is my favourite - apple, kale, celery, mint & cucumber) and smashed avocado! What more could you want for a healthy start to your Sunday?

Wishful Wednesday
I can't believe it's Wednesday again! Where has the week gone?
Short-term Wishing: I somewhat failed on my short-term goal! But that's only because of the little trip to Spain! I've started reading "The Opposite of Loneliness" by Marina Keegan, a loan from my best friend, and I'm absolutely hooked. Marina was so talented and her untimely death is heart breaking - her stories are compelling and as each short story ends I'm so hooked, I want more story from those characters!
Mid-term Wishing: Again, I totally failed on this one but only because no one wants to do yoga in 33 degree heat! Blogger needs a monkey face emoji...
Long-term Wishing: Get more balance in my life...now, this goal didn't go so bad! I feel like a long weekend out of London and seeing my family and sleeping (a lot) has helped me focus up, rest and get inspired!
I have to share this adorable video of a toddler playing peekaboo with a young gorilla! I'm currently working on a post about my favourite places to brunch in London - if there's one thing I can do, it's eat brunch!

It's September already!
Happy New Month!
This week has been a little unusual and definitely interrupting any blogging plans - the long weekend allowed for a little trip to Spain where my parents were on holiday. My sister and I didn't tell my mum we were coming, we met at the airport (she flew from Glasgow, I flew from London) and we turned up at their hotel, knocked on their door and confused the heck out of my wee mum!
Santa Ponsa was beautiful, I wish we could have been there longer but it was great to get some sun. I'm now spending a few days in Glasgow catching up before heading back down to London.
It did give me a chance to think about my blog and where I want it to go as well as making some notes for posts, etc. One of my favourite blogs (and probably my biggest inspiration to get back into blogging!) is Kaelah Bee and I've spent some time reading this post from her, and even purchased her charming e-book on blogging!
