Wishful Wednesday

I can't believe it's Wednesday again! Where has the week gone?

Short-term Wishing: I somewhat failed on my short-term goal! But that's only because of the little trip to Spain! I've started reading "The Opposite of Loneliness" by Marina Keegan, a loan from my best friend, and I'm absolutely hooked. Marina was so talented and her untimely death is heart breaking - her stories are compelling and as each short story ends I'm so hooked, I want more story from those characters!

Mid-term Wishing: Again, I totally failed on this one but only because no one wants to do yoga in 33 degree heat! Blogger needs a monkey face emoji...

Long-term Wishing: Get more balance in my life...now, this goal didn't go so bad! I feel like a long weekend out of London and seeing my family and sleeping (a lot) has helped me focus up, rest and get inspired!

I have to share this adorable video of a toddler playing peekaboo with a young gorilla! I'm currently working on a post about my favourite places to brunch in London - if there's one thing I can do, it's eat brunch!

Thanks for reading!

Wishful Wednesday

I thought I would kick this blog off with a positive, goal-orientated post and use each Wednesday to focus up and check in with my progress on those goals...alas, Wishful Wednesdays!

Have more quiet time.

Short-term Wishing: Starting off easy...in the next week, I would like to finish a book! I'm just over halfway through a re-read of Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar which I would love to finish and make a dent in the next book on my reading list. This relates to my long-term goal too - having more "me" time.

Mid-term Wishing: Make time to do more yoga. I recently discovered yoga thanks to one of my friends taking me along to one of the wonderful Lululemon free Saturday morning classes. By the end of the class I was hooked - having gone in thinking I would find it all really silly and end up laughing - I left feeling amazing! I was smiling and energised and went to my second class the very next day! For a couple of months I kept up going every weekend but a couple of calf tattoos later and I had gotten out of the habit (healing those guys & doing yoga stretches?! No thanks!). I've recently gotten the yoga bug again and my goal for the next couple of months is to attend two classes a week as well as trying to work more yoga into my down time at home.

Spend more time with friends.
Long-term Wishing: Get more balance in my life. When working in film I can work 15, 16, 17 hour days...it can get really crazy and I'm definitely caught in the bubble. It's hard to break out of but I'm taking steps to restore the balance in my life - work, relationships, friendships and ME time!

All of my wishes are quite connected, I hope as I achieve more of these smaller, easy goals that I'll think up some more challenging goals to push me out of my comfort zone.

Right now, I'm wishing the rain would stop so I could head out without full waterproof gear!
